Through investigation of college students, this paper concludes that in the new era the mainstream of the ideological status in universities is positive, while shows a tendecy of diversification. College students generally identify with the mainstream social values, but are more pragmatic and utilitarian. They always have a strong sense of independent learning, but lack vague career planning. It analyzes the social environment, family environment, personal growth, school education and other factors that affect their ideological status, and puts forward suggestions and countermeasures for strengthening the ideological and political work of college students in the new era.
