ABSTRACT

Odour of Chrysanthemums is one of the representative short stories of D. H. Lawrence. It has multiple themes. The sufferings caused by mechanical civilization, the relationship between the sexes, and seeking hope in solitude are the themes of this story. It tries to enlighten the readers that it is of great necessity to erase the harm caused by the mechanical civilization, that it is of great importance to establish a harmonious relationship between the sexes, and that one should never lose hope no matter how much he suffers and how lonely he is.
