ABSTRACT

This paper explores the current situation of interdisciplinary research in applied universities and its operation mechanism. By combing the existing literature, we find that applied universities face some challenges in interdisciplinary research, such as the lack of effective cooperation platforms, disciplinary culture and institutional environment, as well as the imperfect evaluation and incentive mechanism of teachers. In order to solve these problems, we put forward some suggestions, such as establishing a cooperation platform, training interdisciplinary teachers, and improving evaluation and incentive mechanisms.
