China and Japan have a long history of exchange, and at the same time there are many words borrowed from each other by the two languages as carriers of their culture. Through continuous development, these words have also changed in various ways, including semantic and lexical. The study of words over time is also an important part of language studies. The author therefore examines the etymology and meaning of "caipan" in Chinese and Japanese from the perspective of Sino-Japanese lexical exchange, mainly using dictionaries as a reference and a comparative study of the legal vocabulary of the two countries, in order to reveal the links that exist between them and further analyse the reasons for the formation of these links, in order to explore the actual situation of their changes and development.
