ABSTRACT

Based on the theory of Bachman and Palmer's task characteristics framework, this paper analyzes the content validity of the listening comprehension tests in CET-4 (December 2018-- September 2020), according to College English Teaching Guide (2017 Version) and the CET-4 Testing Syllabus (2016 Revised Edition). The results show that the listening comprehension tests basically conform to the stipulations and possess a relatively satisfactory content validity. But there is still advice for further improvement.
