A Systematic Review of Attitudes towards China English and Implications for L2 Teaching in China

ABSTRACT

As China has an increasing contact with the outside world, China English, an English variety used by native Chinese speakers, is playing a more and more important role in many places. Although scholars have already started to become aware of the role of China English in English language teaching, some students and teachers, the real participants in classroom, still hold negative attitudes towards China English. A systematic review approach was adopted in this research to address the research question regarding the relationship between attitudes of students and teachers towards China English and the English language teaching in classroom.
