ABSTRACT

This paper aims to understand the acculturation challenges of international students studying in China and examine avenues for better adaption to the Chinese society by integrating Chinese tea culture into their education. This paper outlines the social and psychological distances of acculturation and challenges in adapting to the Chinese society, and how the Chinese tea culture, with its linguistic, artistic, and ideological features, would be a good means of addressing the linguistic, cultural and psychological challenges that international students face. Practical suggestions are put forward for Chinese universities to provide various tea cultural experiences for international students.
