ABSTRACT

This paper explores the importance of cultivating and assessing intercultural communication skills in university English education and proposes a systematic framework for development and assessment. Through literature review and empirical research, we find that cultivating intercultural communication skills not only helps students better understand and navigate multicultural societies but also enhances their language expression and interpersonal communication abilities. In terms of assessment, we introduce a multidimensional evaluation tool to comprehensively assess students' performance in intercultural communication. By integrating theory and practice, this paper aims to provide actionable guidance for university English education, empowering students with stronger intercultural communication skills in the era of globalization.
