ABSTRACT

English major teaching in local colleges plays an important role in local social and economic development, and plays an irreplaceable role in the process of popularization of higher education in China. China's higher education can no longer meet the needs of economic development, so we should train applied talents based on the needs of enterprise talents. According to their own school-running orientation, local undergraduate colleges aim at training applied talents and rely on serving regional economic and social development to realize transformation and development through reform and continuous innovation. English Teaching in local colleges and universities should adhere to the educational concept of serving the regional economy, take the cultivation and transportation of English application-oriented talents as its educational goal, and take the market demand as its education orientation. In the process of transformation and development of local colleges and universities, College English teaching conforms to the trend, closely combines the talent needs of local social and economic development and students' professional needs, actively explores reform, and strives to cultivate applied talents with core competitiveness in the workplace.
