Research on the Impact of Digital Economy on High-Quality Economic Development: Based on the Analysis of the Intermediary Effect of Industrial Structure

ABSTRACT

Based on the provincial panel data from 2011 to 2017, this paper first studies the impact of digital economy on high-quality economic development, and analyzes the regional heterogeneity of the impact of digital economy. Secondly, by constructing the intermediary effect model, this paper tests the mechanism of digital economy promoting high-quality economic development through optimizing industrial structure. The study found that: Digital economy in general helps to improve the high-quality development of the economy, and the impact of digital economy has regional heterogeneity. The promotion effect of digital economy is more obvious in the eastern region and high-income areas, and the industrial structure has a significant intermediary effect. Digital economy can jointly promote the high-quality development of the economy through the upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure.
