By analysing the theory and practice of the "1+X" certificate system in the field of secondary vocational education in China, we aim to build a modern vocational education model that is integrated with the "post-course-competition-certificate". The article discusses the central role of the "1+X" certificate system in the reform of secondary education from the perspectives of promoting the quality of education, cultivating practical skills, evaluating the quality of education, and integrating production and education. The study points out that the "1+X" certificate system can significantly enhance students' vocational skills and competitiveness in employment and cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents for the development of society and economy by precisely matching the needs of jobs, innovating the curriculum content and teaching methods, and establishing a diversified evaluation system.
