ABSTRACT

Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disease involving follicular sebaceous gland units, and there is no discussion of pre-pubertal acne in the risk factor reports of acne published in national journals. However, in our clinical work, we have seen an increase in the number of patients presenting to the clinic with pre-pubertal acne, which has a series of adverse physical and mental health effects on children who are undergoing rapid growth and development, leading to increased psychosocial stress and low self-esteem in these children. Therefore, this review will summarize the risk factors of prepubertal acne in light of the latest domestic and international research progress.
