Against the backdrop of globalization, the free trade port, as an important node in international trade, presents new challenges for English teaching in vocational undergraduate colleges. This paper discusses how to optimize the English curriculum in vocational undergraduate colleges through ideological and political reform, in order to better adapt to the needs of economic globalization and international exchanges. The article first analyzes the impact of the free trade port on English teaching in vocational undergraduate colleges, then discusses methods for integrating ideological and political education into the English curriculum, and finally proposes a series of reform measures aimed at enhancing students' international perspective and cross-cultural communication abilities.
