Research on the relationship between self-esteem, psychological help-seeking stigma and psychological help-seeking attitude of college students in private colleges and universities

ABSTRACT

College students are in the transition stage between school and society, who are facing with various problems such as academic pressure, interpersonal communication, work practice and so on. Their mental health has always been the focus of the whole country and society. Therefore, taking measures to reduce the risk of college students' mental health problems and improve the mental health work of colleges and universities is conducive to improving the overall mental health level of colleges and universities. In order to study the factors that affect psychological help-seeking, this paper aims at the factors that have an important influence on psychological help-seeking attitudes, and explores the multiple mediating effects of college students' professional psychological help-seeking stigma in self-esteem and professional psychological help-seeking attitude. In addition, this paper tries to find effective intervention methods to reduce psychological help-seeking stigma, improve psychological help-seeking attitudes, and increase the use of mental health services.
