ABSTRACT

This paper will evaluate the difference between the hiring and the firing decisions of NBA coaches due to their race. As shown in this context, racism may have existed in the decisions to hire or fire coaches that have been described as questionable or unfair acts by the team’s management. By evaluating the data from previous seasons in the National Basketball Association, the paper can provide more information on whether coaches have been treated unfairly due to their race.
