Research and Reflection on the Current Situation of "Chinese Cultural Aphasia" in English Education in Chinese Universities

ABSTRACT

In the current college English education, there are problems such as copying books and neglecting the education of students' culture in order to complete the teaching tasks, especially the neglect of combining Chinese and Western culture, which leads to "Chinese Culture Aphasia". The existence of cultural aphasia is not only unable to effectively spread Chinese excellent traditional culture, but also not conducive to cultivating all-round talents. At present, English teaching in Chinese colleges and universities lacks the dissemination and implementation of Chinese culture. From the surface analysis, it is a deviation in teaching methods and concepts, but from the essential point of view, it reflects the defects of social values. This paper mainly analyzes and studies the current situation of "Chinese cultural aphasia" in college English education. Solving the problem of Chinese cultural aphasia education is not only the key to promoting the cultivation of high-quality applied talents in the new era, but also the basis for realizing the correct expression of Chinese culture in foreign exchanges. In order to promote effective English teaching, appropriate strategies should be formed from the aspects of clear awareness, optimization of tutorials, and strengthening of context.
