ABSTRACT
The development of financial technology is a worldwide topic. Promoting fintech is critical to the reform of the financial system. This study explores the relationship between gender equality, infrastructure construction, social development, urbanization, and the development of fintech in China. The research uses the female labor force ratio, mobile cellular subscriptions, school enrollment, tertiary (% gross), and urban population ratio as independent variables and uses the number of mobile payment transactions as a dependent variable to measure the development of fintech. The study used multiple regression and ridge regression models for analysis. The results show that the female labor force ratio, mobile cellular subscriptions, school enrollment, tertiary (% gross), and urban population ratio are all positively correlated with the development of fintech in China.
