ABSTRACT
Based on the 2015 national survey data of China Health and Pension Survey (CHARLS), this study measures the elderly's subjective well-being in two dimensions: overall happiness and emotional well-being. A comparative study of the effects of three types of old-age care and self-care on the subjective well-being of the elderly. In addition, in combination with the process of urbanization, a comparative study of the effects of the elderly care model on the elderly in the urban area was conducted. The results show that family pensions are still improving. An important factor in the happiness of the elderly, but its role is gradually weakening; the effects of social pension measures has begun to appear, but the infrastructure is weak, and the effect on happiness is still limited; self-care has the highest impact on happiness. Compared with this, the elderly in cities and towns are more dependent on the help of social pension resources.
