ABSTRACT

To cultivate students' ability of music creation and innovation is an urgent problem for college music teachers. In order to cultivate students' ability of music creation and innovation, teachers should analyze the reasons that hinder students' ability of creation and take corresponding teaching measures. Based on this, this paper expounds the lack of aesthetic ability of music majors in colleges and universities, the lack of knowledge of traditional Chinese and western music culture, and the old and backward teaching methods of music teachers in colleges and universities. Therefore, music teachers in colleges and universities should pay attention to the cultivation of students' music aesthetic ability, guide students to understand Chinese and western music culture, and actively update teaching concepts and teaching methods in order to improve students' ability of music creation and innovation.
