ABSTRACT
The proposal of core literacy has set a clear direction for the educational reform and development of our country. Cultivating students' core literacy is not only an important task in the stage of basic education, but also an important reference and guidance for the teaching development of various majors in the stage of higher education. Combining the practice of piano teaching in colleges and universities, this paper introduces the basic connotation of core literacy, expounds the significance of promoting the innovative development of piano teaching in colleges and universities based on core literacy thinking, analyzes the shortcomings existing in the current piano teaching in colleges and universities and puts forward suggestions on the innovative development of piano teaching in colleges and universities based on core literacy thinking for reference.
