In the context of globalization, English, as an international lingua franca, requires its teaching to focus not only on the development of language skills but also on the enhancement of cultural awareness. Cultural awareness is a crucial component of language learning, enabling learners to better understand the cultural connotations behind language and enhancing their intercultural communication skills. This study aims to explore the role of cultural awareness in English teaching and propose corresponding teaching strategies. Through case studies, and empirical research, this paper analyzes the impact of cultural awareness on language learning, intercultural communication skills, and students' comprehensive qualities, and suggests strategies in areas such as teaching content design, teaching method innovation, teaching resource utilization, and teacher roles and training. The research results indicate that the cultivation of cultural awareness can significantly improve the effectiveness of English teaching and promote students' holistic development. This study provides theoretical support and practical guidance for English teaching practices while also offering directions for future research.
