The paper examines the current situation and challenges of industrial transfer in southern Hunan within the context of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It draws conclusions on undertaking industrial transfer in this region based on its abundant land, mineral, and labor resources, as well as its strategic location adjacent to the Pearl River Delta. Despite facing issues such as weak industrial agglomeration, inadequate infrastructure, and environmental pollution, southern Hunan has potential for industrial development through selective transfer from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. This can be achieved by fostering regional clusters, improving transportation systems and infrastructure, investing in education and high-tech talent training, promoting government cooperation, prioritizing environmentally friendly industries and enforcing strict environmental regulations.
